Proposal strategy, technical review, and scientific computing expertise for researchers pursuing competitive federal funding.
Agency-aware guidance for computational and scientific computing proposals, helping researchers strengthen strategy, structure, clarity, and technical positioning before submitting to federal funding programs.
Independent critique of draft proposals or pre-proposals, focused on identifying review risks, improving competitiveness, and aligning submissions with DOE Office of Science or NSF CISE expectations.
Strategic advice on specific Notices of Funding Opportunities, including how to interpret program priorities, shape the research narrative, and position scientific computing work effectively.
Focused coaching for DOE Early Career Research Program applicants, informed by former DOE program manager experience and knowledge of scientific computing review expectations.
Targeted support for NSF CAREER applicants, including proposal strategy, red team review, and alignment with NSF CISE research and broader career-development priorities.
Senior scientific computing expertise for research teams needing support in computational science, applied mathematics, modeling, simulation, high performance computing, or scientific machine learning.

The engagement begins by reviewing the Notice of Funding Opportunity, target agency, research aims, team context, and deadline. This helps clarify where strategic advice, red team review, or technical proposal support will create the most value.
Work with a consultant who understands both the science and the federal review environment.
Guidance informed by eight years managing programs at DOE Office of Science.
Over three decades in scientific computing, applied mathematics, modeling, and simulation.
